Bizarre Enough

This seems to hit on the range of the bizarre. Yesterday, Fulham unveiled a statue of Michael Jackson outside of Craven Cottage before their match with Blackpool. I understand that Mohamed Al Fayed, Fulham's owner, was Michael Jackson's close friend. And even that he went to a match in 98' but to me it seems just like more publicly for Fulham. I would hate to say that, noting that Michael passed away just a couple of years ago. However how are you going to get more people to notice your club? Erect a statue of one of the greatest performers ever. Even Sportscenter and other US media sites have discussed this.

I understand why most football enthusiasts are upset about this. Statue around stadiums are suppose to mean something to those that go there every weekend. You know the saying, "The Stadium Ruth built" The statue has to identify with the fans. Or the statue of Michael Jordan outside of the United Center. He helped make the Chicago Bulls who they are so he deserves it. What will the statue of Michael Jackson stand for at Craven Cottage? Most purists will be highly upset because it isn't as if he donated sums of money to the club or helped out the club in any other way as in saying that it was his favorite club.

I am a big Michael Jackson fan, I like most of his music. However being a football fan also, I think it is disrespect to those who do have to go to the park every matchday. It will be nice for tourist to see it and take pictures for sure. However I think there are better ways to remember the King of Pop other than a statue outside of a football stadium.

Deuce Freestyles

To represent his two goal game for Fulham against Wigan Athletic. I am going to show an interview of Clint Dempsey aka Deuce (I know it is three years old. He is going to show his flow on a freestyle. You didn't know soccer players can rap like this. I got a friend named "Lil Bobby" that can flow himself. He should get a record deal for sure.

Already I am going off the point. I am glad Clint has been representing the United States well during the last couple of months. Even though they have changed managers and players have come and gone. However Deuce has remained one of the consistent players for his club and he is a hard worker for his country also. So big ups to him and I'll leave this to you.

Not going to lie. I'm tired of this British Nonsense

No disrespect to the English Premier League. I love watching the Big Four and for that matter Aston Villa, Manchester City, (b/c Robinho, Stephen Ireland, and SWP) and basically a team with an American on it (meaning Everton and Fulham). However I can deal without watching games in the Premiership without the struggling teams playing each other. It may be exciting to the fans of these teams but honestly it is just not good soccer, At all. All I see teams do against the big four is lump long balls and hope for free kicks. That is how they are going to get their results but as a neutral watching most of these games I cannot stand watching these games. It begins to hurt my eyes and then my mom would yell at me for a) "WHY AREN'T YOU WATCHING THIS GAME? and b) STOP SLEEPING ON THE COUCH. Because honestly I would either be putting on the headphones and listening to music or passing out on the couch.

I know people will hate me saying it but I would rather watch mid table Spanish La Liga matches then watching mid table EPL games. At least the ball stays on the ground for the most part. You see lots of dribbling in these games but also you'll see nice passing too. I love the chance when I get to go to a house with DirecTV and the people I stay with have GolTV and I'm on the tube watching some soccer and enjoying myself. Instead of going home and all I have is Fox Soccer Channel and now the Italian Serie A is on winter break. So all that is going on is EPL action. I know the English people (the ones I know support the Big Four, hmm bandwagoners!) that I know will give me a hard time but honestly don't you cringe sometimes when an mid- to low level team comes on your schedule because you know exactly what you are going to see.
