Of course since my ideas are jumbled up in my brain, I decided to post another one of my assignments that I did on my course. So warning to those who don't have any care about soccer, I would just close out the blog and just say when am I going to hear about what is going on in Andre's life. Well I can just give u a brief, "I am working and trying to get on with life." and then that is it.
I had to write about what transfers that I thought were successful and which I thought were unsuccessful and I jotted down my ideas on here.
Warning: These are just my thoughts, you might have your own opinion. Well this isn't your blog haha, but you can give me some of your opinions on my comment page.
Unsuccessful Transfer: Jo, CSKA Moscow to Manchester City 19 million pounds
Manchester City bought a Brazilian by the name of Jo. He was bought from CSKA Moscow for about 19 million pounds. Even though he started at Eastlands when he was 19 years of age, he was undoubtedly a failure of a transfer so far. He has been loaned out to Everton and Galasataray during his time with City and is more than likely going to leave the club with a lesser transfer fee than they bought him with. He has only scored six goals in his City career with only one of them coming in Premier League action. I always have the thought that Brazilians never worked well in England. Whether it was due to the cold weather, style of play, or the English lifestyle, I never felt as if they ever adapted well in England. Also in the next couple of years, they bought better strikers like Tevez, Adebayor, and now Dzeko. Jo did not stand much of a change of succeeding; also they have played him out of position at times this season. Roberto Mancini has had him out wide and further away from goal. He has not officially left Manchester City even though he is on loan; the front office is looking at ways to transfer him for a suitable fee.
Successful Transfer: Cristiano Ronaldo Sporting Lisbon to Manchester United 12.24 million pounds
The most successful transfer I believe is when Cristiano Ronaldo went from Sporting Lisbon to Manchester United. During his time with United, he has become one of the world’s best players. He signed with the club for 12.24 million pounds in the 2002-03 season. He started out slow with the club however he broke out in the 2006 season by scoring 23 goals in all competitions then he surpassed that by scoring 42 goals and leading his club to the Premiership title and a Champions League trophy. He ended that season by winning FIFA World’s Player of the Year. He became the first Premier League player to win the award. He would later move on to Real Madrid after the 2008-2009 season. I believe that it was a successful transfer on Manchester United, not only because of the success he brought to the club, but he was sold for almost eight times of his United transfer when he went to Real Madrid (80 million pounds)

Respect is Due..
(That is a big watch by the way)
Alright, I have called this man out millions of millions of times but we all know that this is a class footballer and I will pay respect when it is due. With a 40 goal season with Manchester United, leading them to Champions League glory and exceeding expectations at Real Madrid, he deserves all the respect that is given to him.
Most of us might not like him because of his brass cockiness. We cannot dispute that he is one of the best players of the world and on the rate he is going, he could potentially be one of the greatest legends.
You could say that his lifestyle choices aren't the best and he is an avid party animal. Unlike Ronaldinho and the real Ronaldo, he seems to grow stronger with every award he's received. Ronaldinho steadily dropped off once he won his FIFA World Player of the Year award. Ronaldo had the unlucky fortunes of getting injured time after time that caused his decline (even though I still think he could ball in the highest level). Even though he is at the tender age of 25 and probably still hasn't hit his prime yet (that is a scary thought) he will only get better if there is any way that he could be better.
This man has all the best qualities of a legendary footballer. He can strike a ball, has quick legs, can take free-kicks, is tall, and can head the ball. What more can you ask for? The only knock that I can think of is that he isn't the greatest passer but there are only a couple of great passers in the game right now. But he isn't a creative playmaker, he is more of a finisher. He is a Kobe Bryant compared to Xavi and Iniesta who are like Steve Nash.
He has won every award in the English game and will probably do the same (with the help of the Special One) in Spain. The only thing that allude this footballer is accolades in the international game. Like Messi and Rooney, he needs a signature performance in South Africa that will put him with the likes of Zidane, Pele, and Maradona. I think he is due for one. After getting to the semifinals in 06, it is time for him to make that next step.
I don't know if the quality of players in the Portugal National Team setup could help him (especially with his mate Nani being out of the tournament) but I am sure he will do everything in his power to keep his country in this tournament. He has done it with club. Why can't he do the same with country? I'm calling it! He is going to have a strong tournament. Portugal winning the World Cup? Well Michel Platini had one of those performances in 86 and he didn't leave with Jules Rimet Trophy. *Shrugs*

Real Madrid > Barcelona?? Nah not right now...
The start of this La Liga sees Real Madrid and Barcelona ahead of the pack. And contrary to what people are saying, it seems like it's going to be a two horse race for the La Liga crown and possibly the Champions League. After watching Real Madrid the other day, I still feel that they have a long way to go before they can mount any sort of challenge for Barcelona. Barcelona is the complete package at the moment. Plus the fact that Ibrahimovic doesn't have to shoulder the load that he had to for Inter, they are even more potent. There are still faults for Real Madrid and their chase for multiple trophies.
Seeing multiple games of Madrid, they just don't control games the same way that Barcelona does. There instances in each of the games that I watched when the opposition had the majority of possession and were getting quality looks on goal. Even during the Villareal game, the Galaticos were a man up and they could not control the match and step of the opposing team's throat. Obviously the midfield is the major factor in controlling games. I just don't see that bite in their midfield. Even with Lass Diarra, Xabi Alonoso, Guti, and company. They should impose fear on teams but they just don't and they don't hold onto possession as much as they should. Another reason why they probably don't hold more possession is that for the most part C. Ronaldo dominates the ball with his constant dribbling and shooting. Don't get me wrong, he does a good job with it. However he seems to be trying a bit too hard to impress that other players don't get much of the ball. It took Kaka about four or five games to finally get his first goal, many because CR9 is scoring the majority of the goals and taking all the headlines.
I believe Kaka is the key in this side. C. Ronaldo can easily be frustrated if things do not go his way. And he can play himself out of games. Kaka is the more stable force who does the work that no one knows about. No one knows that he has four assists already. Everyone wants to talk about the spectacular goals of Ronaldo.
Madrid cannot keep on relying on magical moments from CR9 or Kaka to lead them to trophies. It has to be a total team effort, especially against teams who are able to defend them. They will struggle at times. Barcelona seems to be more stable in the way they are approaching the season. Their defenders are much better and they possess the ball at a higher rate than Real Madrid. Plus having Messi and Ibrahimovic at their disposal doesn't hurt either. It will be an interesting season that will probably be filled with ups and downs. The true champions will come when things are going their way.
Me? As of now I'm still picking Barcelona. They are just on another planet at the moment and Ibrahimovic has been a great signing for them. Real Madrid aren't too far behind. They still need some work.

????

Dear Christiano Ronaldo,
Here we go again. On a website it is said that your new girlfriend is a cocaine-selling prostitute (I don't even want to get into how strange that sounds as it is ). I just am wondering what is with your choice of women, in the same article it says that last year you brought back five prostitutes for a little "pool party". So now I feel like I have to address you and divert myself from my school work that I was currently doing.
So let me get this straight during the summer you had a beautiful super model who is clean from all we know and you decide to get rid of her and now in the fall we find out that your new girlfriend is a prostitute. Now we are beginning to wonder about you. My friend Aaron has said that these girls are cover for your sexuality. Now I don't like to judge too quickly but the question has to be asked when have you had a steady girlfriend for a while. I know you are a prima donna footballer who can get what he wants but all and all you are getting wrapped up with these girls who are nothing but trouble for anyone. And you probably seeing people saying that you 'don't seem right' and they judge you by the way you act so maybe just maybe you bring girls over to your party to just hang and get on the news. I don't know I don't want to judge but I'm just saying that could be one angle.
And I thought about this angle that you are trying to do. Maybe you are trying to get under the last nerves of Sir Alex Ferguson with these stunts and pushing for a transfer to Real Madrid. That isn't out of the question, I mean you did want to go there and you know that Sir Alex hearing about these types of escapades will want him to pull his hair out and he will start threatening you to stop doing while you keep on causing trouble for yourself because let's be honest you don't care you are one of the best footballers in the world you can handle this type of garbage and he will for sure want to get rid of you and the nonsense that you bring to the team.
I don't know what you are doing. I don't think anybody knows what you are doing, but just make sure you know what you are doing.

Manchester United-Chelsea this saturday

The key matchup for this coming up Saturday. And when I first started watching European soccer I had much respect and love for Sir Alex Ferguson and now that respect has turn into loathe and possible hate of the Man Utd boss. He claims that if John Terry was a Manchester United player he would not have his red card overturned and that he got it overturn because he was a Chelsea player. He continues about the director of refereeing being bias to Chelsea and all that nonsense. Now I've seen the game and I thought that the red card was wrong. There was two guys behind him so he wasn't fouling Jo's clear path to goal. And they talk about foul serious play, It isn't like he football tackled him and spat on his face or anything. Alex is just upset that he can't get his guy Vidic on the field because they are smart enough not to rescind his double yellow because he fully deserved it (and probably should have gotten a straight red after fouling Dirk Kuyt before he was steaming towards net.)
I have another beef with Alex. He continues to run players out who doesn't care for or disagree with his beliefs. Most notably, David Beckham, Ruud Van Nistlerooy, and Roy Keane. He ran those players away and even kicked a boot at one of his players (Beckham). He just seems like a guy with a lil man complex... Probably wasn't the greatest player in the world or anything so he wants all the control and he wants all his players to be his robots. I just fear that Christiano Ronaldo will fall into the same trap and will be hung out to dry. Everytime I hear him talk I just want to strangle him.
So let me just get to the point. Who is going to win the game. It is in Stamford Bridge, Christiano Ronaldo is suppose to be back by then so that should make things interesting, but I feel like he will play a bit part and I think he might be working on a sabotage plan sorta like Manny Ramirez (i'll write about that later). I just don't see the bite in the United side. There's no Vidic which is a big lost for the side. I don't think the center midfield duo that United will bring out will come close to out-manning a midfield team of lampard, deco, obi mikel, the list goes on. I don't think Manchester has much of a match in this game. Rio is my "cultural" aggin but he isn't a match for Anelka, Malouda or maybe even Drogba who will probably make a 20 minute appearance like he did last week against Man City. It will be a 2-0 victory for Chelsea with Frank Lampard and Florent Malouda (yes that guy who was trash in euro 2008) scoring the two goals. I can't wait to see what excuse Sir Alex has for this week. Freakin weasel.
